Leaving leather in damp environments (think basements) will cause mildew and mold to grow. If allowed to remain on the skins, the mold will eventually eat into the skins causing permanent damage. However, don’t give up if you find your favorite jacket full of mildew! We are very successful in removing mildew stains that have not permanently damaged the skins. Odor associated with mildew is treated in our ozone booth before cleaning. Sometimes, however, a faint mildew odor may remain.
