Latex-Backed Rugs: A tufted rug (mechanically produced) has a latex adhesive applied to the back to hold the fibers in place. Over time, the latex breaks down causing dusting, buckling, limpness, loss of shape and odor. Exposure to water accelerates this process. Shag rugs or rugs contaminated by flood, urine, feces and/or vomit must be immersed to properly clean. These are cleaned only at customer risk.
Braided rugs: Customer risk for braids coming unstitched.
