Watch out for dye transfer with leather

Home/Watch out for dye transfer with leather

Think twice before purchasing that white silk blouse with the black lambskin trim you’ve been eying. Paring light colored textiles with contrasting leather trims on apparel, handbags and outerwear looks great until it’s time to have them cleaned.

Even though many of these types of garments will have a care label indicating dry cleaning as the recommended cleaning method, we know that following the care label will likely cause the leather to bleed onto the adjacent surface. Using our expertise and hand cleaning methods, we successfully clean many of these high risk garments. However, they are only done with a customer risk. We recommend sending these items only to a Professional Leather Cleaner.
