A beautiful, unique set of buttons can make a garment sing. But combining fragile ornaments with heavy leather is risky. It is the manufacturer’s responsibility to make sure all components on a garment can withstand the recommended cleaning process. Many buttons can be protected by wrapping in foil and safely cleaned. However, if we feel there is risk of damage to ornamentation, we will remove them. Some clasps which are prone to damage and can’t be removed will require a customer release to clean the garment.
